The school
WHAT IT IS
Labyrinth BJJ is a martial arts school in Fulshear, Texas. Most of what we teach is Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a grappling art built on leverage, position and control, in two forms: Gi and No-Gi. Around it we run youth wrestling, an MMA conditioning class, a competition team, and strength and conditioning that is open to all ages.
Children can start at three, in groups separated by age. Adults can start at any age and at any level of fitness: almost everybody who walks in as an adult has never done a combat sport, and the classes are built around that.

Standing up
Try MMA conditioning
Saturday at 9:00 AM, open to all ages, beginners welcome. Coach Scott Jones, a 7th dan Taekwondo black belt, teaches you to stand, move and defend yourself.
Harder rounds
Join the competition team
Dedicated classes for kids, teens and adults, for anyone who wants harder training. Nobody is ever made to compete.
One team
TWO SCHOOLS, ONE TEAM
Team Legacy Martial Arts, the school Coach Scott Jones built, has merged into Labyrinth, and its families and its coach now train here. That makes two head coaches on one mat, and it is why a school that started as jiu-jitsu now also has a 7th dan Taekwondo black belt teaching standing-up skills. Read what changed.

Karate and taekwondo are mostly striking arts: punching, kicking and blocking. Jiu-jitsu is a grappling art, built on leverage, position and control, with no striking in it. We teach the grappling side every day, and our MMA conditioning class, led by a 7th dan Taekwondo black belt, covers standing up, moving and defending yourself. Our blog compares the two for children in more detail: BJJ vs Karate for Kids.
Three. Our Little Grapplers class is for ages 3 to 6, there are separate groups for ages 7 to 12 and 12 to 15, and adults can start at any age.
No. There is no fitness test at the door, and almost nobody who walks in as an adult has done a combat sport before. You build the conditioning by doing it, and you can scale the warm-up or sit out a round whenever you need to.
Your first class is free, in any class on the timetable. For children, free trials run on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Memberships are month to month with no long-term contract.
