Background
ABOUT SCOTT JONES
Scott Jones founded Team Legacy Martial Arts and built it from nothing. When Team Legacy merged with Labyrinth, he did not change jobs; he brought his school with him, students and all, and now coaches here full time. If your child learned from Coach Scott at Team Legacy, they still do.
He is a 7th dan black belt in Taekwondo and a four-stripe purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, with more than 27 years of MMA behind him and over thirty years of teaching children and adults: more time on the mat as a teacher than anyone else on our staff. He has trained at Labyrinth since the day it opened, and he was the first student ever to tap our head coach in a live roll.
That combination is why he runs Youth MMA. A striking black belt who is also a jiu-jitsu player can teach a child to stand, move and defend themselves without losing sight of what happens when the fight reaches the ground, which is where most of the rest of this timetable lives.
He runs Youth MMA on Saturday mornings for ages 7 to 15, and the families who trained with him at Team Legacy train with him here.
